New 2009 Sedona Arts Center Exhibit - Call to Artists
SEDONA, Ariz. (July 14, 2009): This is the official First Call to Artists for a new 2009 exhibit at the Sedona Arts Center, the Small Works Exhibit and Invitational Silent Auction. This will replace the year-end miniature show that has been held in previous years.
The Small Works Exhibit will present original pieces of art in two dimensions no larger than 12" X 14" and in three dimensions no larger than 6" X 6" X 6" - perfect sizes for wonderful holiday gifts. The show will run from November 25, 2009 through January 3, 2010.
Artists are invited to submit no more than two pieces of exhibition quality work that has been completed within the last two years. Works previously exhibited in Sedona Arts Center exhibitions or galleries are not eligible. Pieces must be properly framed with strong wire attached for hanging and ready for display (no saw tooth hangers). A current Arts Center Membership is required and can be purchased during the take-in process on November 23. A complete prospectus for the exhibit can be accessed online at: www.SedonaArtsCenter.com.
The Invitational Silent Auction, a new year-end, fundraising event for the Arts Center, begins on November 25 with open bidding through the Champagne and Chocolates First Friday Reception from 5 - 8 pm on December 4th. Bidding will close at 7:00pm that evening. This will be a wonderful opportunity to purchase works of art by local professional artists and to support the Arts Center at the same time. A few of the artists who have graciously accepted the invitation to participate are: Gregory Hull, Cody DeLong, Michael Chesley Johnson, Jeff Perkins, Polly Cullen, Ken Rowe, and more.
We encourage fine artists from around the Valley to submit the best of their small works for the exhibit in anticipation that this will be one of the most exciting shows of the year ~ a great way to celebrate the end of the first decade of the 21st Century.
