The Story of the Rwandan Orphan Quilting Project at NAWBO-Sedona on Nov 12, 2009

Dottie Webster and Suzanne Connolly

Dottie Webster and Suzanne Connolly closed their eyes and saw beautiful, African Quilts. Quilts made of the beautiful brightly colored wax-relief batiks made by the older children at El Shaddai.

These children could learn a skill by which they could support themselves. Want to hear more, come and enjoy this wonderful story of vision and hope. Learn how these two women arrived in Kigali and how a local group of women came to the rescue.

Quilts are sold in the US, with all funds returned to the boys and the Orphanage. Sandy Brandvold helped create scholarships for 9 girls to attend school supported by the sales of note cards from quilts photographed. The first five quilters graduated last May with finances, a trade and HOPE.

Come and hear how you can help support this worthy cause and be a part of these quilters future.
