SEDONA, AZ - A Pet Blessing Ceremony will be conducted Saturday, November 14, 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Unity Church of Sedona. The gathering of animals and their companions will receive a special invocation by Reverend Mark Pope. This will be an opportunity to express appreciation for the many gifts these faithful creatures bestow on humanity daily.
When times are difficult and the need for understanding is great, a beloved animal will always be there for support. When good fortune smiles, that same loyal friend will be happy to celebrate. In honor of this unconditional love bring your pet to the beautiful gazebo in front of Unity Church. Join others in a ceremony of gratitude and grace for these animals who speak silently yet so eloquently from their hearts. All pets are welcome, dogs, cats, turtles, birds, fish or any other living creature that shares your life. Treats and water will be available for them. A certificate of blessing will be presented to each guest.
If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to the man. All things are connected.," Chief Seattle in a letter to President Franklin Pierce.
A love offering is requested but not required. One-half of all proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society of Sedona.
Feel free to drop in at any time during the ceremony. Bring your pet, all dogs leashed please, or a photograph to Unity Church at 65 Deer Trail Drive, off 89A, behind Days Inn. For more information call (928) 282-7181.
