Global Product Sales at Church of the Red Rocks to Benefit Local and Global Communities
Sedona, AZ(Nov, 2009) - The Church of the Red Rocks will feature Up from the Dust at its Sunday coffee hour on November 15 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The community is invited. Sunday worship services at the church, located at 54 Bowstring Drive on the corner of State Route 179, are at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Importing beautiful handmade products made by women in developing countries to the U.S. marketplace, Up from the Dust helps support and economically empower the women's businesses and communities. There will be items for sale from more than 10 countries, with prices ranging from $10 to $200. Ten percent of sales will go to the church's Women's Fellowship for the mission programs it supports.
"It is a great way to help the local community while we are assisting the global community, as well," said Mary Schnack, Founder, Up from the Dust. "It is a perfect match for fund-raising and helping others."
"People are cognizant of how they spend every dollar," says Mary Schnack, founder of Up from the Dust. "Up from the Dust is popular because people like getting a unique item from another country and most importantly, that their dollar makes a direct impact in others' lives."
Schnack added that Up from the Dust is a popular website throughout the year, not just at holiday time. "We are also getting requests from women and charities throughout the country to host home parties."
Schnack also will be hosting an open house for Up from the Dust sales at 270 Last Wagon Drive, Sedona, on Thursday, November 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited.
