In Honor of America's Veterans, November 11 is a "Fee Free Day"
Sedona, AZ - To honor America's service men and women who served in the armed forces to protect us and our national heritage, the Coconino National Forest announces a Red Rock Pass "Fee Free Day" Wednesday, November 11, 2009. We invite the public to come join us in this celebration and to stop into one of our Forest Service offices to obtain a map and forest information about recreation opportunities available on the Red Rock District and what Red Rock Pass funds work to protect.
This "Fee Free Day" means the Red Rock Pass will not be required for vehicle parking on National Forest lands in and around Sedona on Veteran's Day. This includes free admittance to the Palatki and Honanki Ruins, V Bar V Rock Art site and access to approximately 300 miles of multiple-use trails in Red Rock Country. This "Fee Free Day" applies to all Red Rock Pass areas, not to include campgrounds and recreation areas managed under contract, such as Call of the Canyon, Grasshopper Point, Banjo Bill and Crescent Moon Ranch.
The goal of this "Fee Free Day" is to honor our Veteran's and to increase public awareness about our National Forest heritage. For more information, please contact the Red Rock Ranger District at (928) 282-4119.
