City of Sedona receives MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Grant
cityofsedonalogo.jpgSEDONA, AZ (November 13, 2009) - The City of Sedona Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that we are the recipients of the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Grant.  This grant is awarded to communities who provide the free MLB Pitch, Hit and Run event for the youth in their community.

The City of Sedona has been offering this free competition for Sedona youth for the past two years.  Because of the Department's dedication, Major League baseball has awarded the City with a $100 grant.  This money will be used to purchase baseball equipment that can be used for future competitions.   Previously, Parks and Recreation had to rely on the generosity of the Sedona Little League to provide us with the batting tees, bats and balls that are required for this event.  In the future, the City will have their own  new equipment to utilize for this great event.  We hope children will continue to benefit from this event in the future.
